KWTV-DT - Q & A with Joe Dorman

What is your reason for running?

"I want to move Oklahoma in a better direction than where we are now. I want to help those who are struggling every day and living paycheck to paycheck. I believe we need someone in the Governor's office who will wake up every day with one goal in mind: what can I do today to improve the lives of Oklahomans? We also need to see more bipartisanship at the Capitol than we have now. We are all in this together, so we must work together to achieve successful policies for all Oklahomans."

Why should Oklahomans vote for you?

"Because we can do better than what we have now. I will collaborate with educators and parents and provide our education system with the actual resources and funding needed to help children learn, rather than the current one--size--fits--all national mandates and age inappropriate high--stakes tests we have right now. I will work to create a living wage for all Oklahomans, as too many in our state currently live in poverty. I will improve our state's health care system, including accepting Medicaid expansion dollars that Oklahomans are entitled to receive back from the federal government, and improving telemedicine opportunities across our state. I will also prioritize our roads and bridges, working for improvements before a problem occurs that impacts our economy, such as the Purcell--Lexington bridge closure. I will work across the aisle to achieve consensus on all of these issues."
